Atlanta Falcons +110
I want to bet into the desperation game and rebound spot for the Atlanta Falcons offense this week. Wide Receiver coach Ike Hilliard was fired on Monday and offensive coordinator Zac Robinson will move from upstairs in the booth to field level to call plays. These decisions come after a very slow start for a unit with high preseason expectations. The moves are expected to increase communication between Robinson and Penix allowing him to get to the line of scrimmage faster. Multiple times this season he has been rushed against the play clock causing issues with the Falcons offense, especially in the red zone where they rank second worst this season. Getting to be back at home with fan help should help with communication too. I think the pieces on this offense are too good to continue ranking 30th in red zone scoring and 21st in yards per play and these changes could be the needed spark for a big offensive outburst this week. This looks like a good spot to take a chance and fade the Commanders as well. Washington comes in off a blow out win of Las Vegas, but has injury questions. Jayden Daniels is still day to day. His knee injury is restricting lateral movement, and quotes about his return have been on playing it “smart”. If he is back, I don’t expect an effective game scrambling. If it’s another game of Mariota, I obviously like this quite a bit more. Terry McLaurin is dealing with a quad injury suffered last week and is going to be questionable throughout the week. Give me the Falcons here.
